Development of Medical Audit Program of Breast Imaging

Abstract

|
Purpose: To develop medical audit program of breast imaging.
Materials and Methods: Approximately 100,000 mammograms or breast ultrasonograms that were performed from 2000 to date were included in our study. Data input into the spread sheet of Microsoft office Excel was based on the medical records of histopathological and surgical results. The program named Mediaudit was developed based on the network in order to transfer the data.
Results: The program was designed for multi users in the hospital, based on the network. This facilitated the communication process among multi users and improved work efficiency through collaboration in the network. The program made it easier to display various data of the patient on one monitor of the computer while enabling simultaneous look-up or use of statistics. The orginal data from Microsoft office Excel was also available in the program.
Conclusion: We developed the program to manage data on breast imaging. Input and search of the interpretation data of a certain facility was successful via this program. Therefore we expect the sharing of data with other facilities and its national analysis of may be possible in the near future.
